Corporate Prayer & Fasting Schedule
August 15th, 2019 – September 4th, 2019
Types of Fasting
These are three known fasts in the bible; however, we will look at number three.
- The normal fast, involving the total abstinence of food - Luke 4:2. Jesus abstained from food but not from water.
- In Acts 9:9 we read of an absolute fast where for three days he neither drank nor ate anything.
- The partial fast in Daniel 10:3 emphasizes the restriction of diet rather than complete abstinence. The context implies that there were physical benefits resulting from this partial fast. However, this verse indicates that there was a revelation given to Daniel as a result of this type of fasting.
This type of fast is not a total refraining from food.

Join us, August 15th – September 4th, as we corporately consecrate ourselves before God. No meals should be consumed nightly after 7:00 pm. Again, the fast we will participate in will not be a total refraining from food. We will resume our normal eating patterns on Thursday, September 5th at 6:00 a.m.
Prayer sessions during this time will be
U 6am & 6pm: Monday-Friday (Pray at Home)
U 8:00am: Saturday (Pray at Church)
U 6:30am: Sunday Corporate/Intercessory Prayer (At Church)
We will be praying corporately on Saturday, August 17th, 24th, & 31st from 8:00 am – 9:00 am.
Preparation for Fasting
- Begin drinking plenty of water; squeeze fresh lemon juice in your water or a cut cucumber.
- Begin cutting back the caffeine and sugars. Drinking plenty of water will help you get over the cravings of these two things.
GUIDELINES FOR DANIEL FAST
The following are permitted to consume:
Whole Grains: Brown Rice, Oats, Barley, Wheat Pasta, any Wheat or multi-grain cereals, Granola bars etc…
Legumes: Dried Beans, Pinto Beans, Lima Beans, Split Peas, Lentils, Black Eyed Peas etc…
Fruits: Apples, Apricots, Bananas, Blackberries, Blueberries, Boysenberries, Cantaloupe, Cherries, Cranberries, Oats, Figs, Grapefruit, Grapes, Guava, Honeydew Melon, Huckleberries, Kiwi, Lemons, Limes, Mangoes, Nectarines, Papayas, Peaches, Pears, Pineapples, Plums, Prunes, Raisins, Raspberries, Strawberries, Tangelos, Tangerines, Watermelon, etc…
Vegetables: Artichokes, Asparagus, Beets, Broccoli, Brussels Sprouts, Cabbage, Carrots, Cauliflower, Celery, Chili Peppers, Corn, Cucumbers, Eggplant, Garlic, Gingerroot, Kale, Leeks, Lettuce, Mushrooms, Mustard Greens, Okra, Onions, Parsley, Potatoes, Radishes, Rutabagas, Scallions, Spinach, Sprouts, Squashes, Sweet Potatoes, Tomatoes, Turnips, Watercress, Yams, Zucchini, Vegetarian Vegetable Soup etc…
Liquids: Tap Water, Spring Water, Distilled Water, 100% All-Natural Fruit Juices, 100% All Natural Vegetable Juices, 2% Milk (or lower grade), Soy Milk, Protein drinks
Also allowed: Whole Wheat and Multi Grain breads with NO enriched flour, Organic Spaghetti Sauce, Organic Peanut Butter, Seeds, Nuts, Sprouts, Seasonings, Honey, Mustard, Ketchup, Any Salad Dressing, Bar-B-Que sauce, Olive Oil, Vegetable Oil
Acceptable Food Name List:
ü Veggies Slices (Cheese substitute)
ü Franklin Farms Veggie Burgers
ü Bolthouse Farms:
Green Goodness, 100% Carrot Juice, Strawberry Banana, Perfectly Protein, Vegetable Juice,
and Valencia Orange
ü Whole Wheat/Multi Grain or Whole Grain Cereals examples:
Cheerios, Raisin Bran, Total, Shredded Wheat, Wheaties
ü Morning Star Veggie Products
Veggie Bacon strips, Veggie Sausage patties and links, Veggie burgers
ü Boca Veggie Products
Chicken patties, Garden burger, Chili, Breakfast patties
Through the duration of the fast the following should NOT be consumed:
Chicken, Beef, Pork, Wild game, etc.) Fish Is Allowed.
NO FRIED FOODS, White Rice, Carbonated Beverages, Refined Sugar
*Sugar Substitutes (candy, cake, cookies, sweeteners, etc.) (Please use honey)
White flour enriched and All Products Using It (Pasta, Rice, Bread, Biscuits, Cream of Wheat, Grits, etc.) **Enriched products are primarily “white”**
Butter, Margarine, Shortening, Crisco, High Fat Products
Caffeinated/Decaffeinated Soda, Tea, Coffee, Not Chocolate, Chocolate/Strawberry Milk
No mints (use breath spray or Listerine Strips)
Cheese, Eggs, Yogurt, Pudding, Jello, etc…
*Sweeteners for Diabetics are allowed, such as Splenda, Equal, etc. as a substitute for honey.
